Important Updates Regarding COVID-19 and Bioheat® Delivery
We must admit, this spring is unlike any we’ve ever experienced before. Circumstances caused by the Coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic have required families to stay home, businesses to temporarily close, and “normal” life to come to a halt. As an essential business, Falmouth Energy remains open and available to provide fuel delivery and HVAC service to our customers. The Benefits of Bioheat® Fuel Delivery on Cape Cod
In the spirit of Earth Day, we’d like to take a moment to appreciate all the benefits that Bioheat® fuel has to offer.
- Bioheat® fuel is made from renewable resources.
Bioheat® heating fuel is made from a blend of standard heating oil and renewable biodiesel. Biodiesel is made from renewable and/or reusable resources, like plant oil byproducts and recycled grease. - Bioheat® fuel produces fewer emissions.
Because Bioheat® contains biodiesel, it produces significantly fewer emissions than standard home heating oil. Additionally, Bioheat® in Massachusetts produces even fewer emissions because the heating oil used in our state is ultra-low sulfur (ULS) heating oil, which has 99% less sulfur content. ULS heating oil also produces fewer emissions. Together, the blend of biodiesel and ULS heating oil makes Bioheat® fuel produce nearly zero emissions. - Bioheat® fuel oil supports our economy.
Biodiesel used to make Bioheat® is made domestically in the United States. According to Biodiesel.org, the biodiesel industry currently supports nearly 60,000 jobs. - Bioheat® is compatible with oil heating equipment.
Bioheat® heating fuel can be used in almost all existing oil heating systems, with no modifications necessary. That means oil-heated homes can use Bioheat® to help protect our planet without having to pay to replace their heating system.
